The Galveston Island Festival presented by American Dance/Drill Team offers an ideal competition venue at the beautiful Moody Gardens Hotel & Convention Center. Teams may elect to stay in the Moody Gardens Hotel that connects with the Convention Center or in one of the many hotels on the Seawall. Special activities can include dinner at the Rain Forest Restaurant, Dolphin Cruise, Historical Pleasure Pier, Tour the Historical Mansions, Shop on the Strand, and much more! The contest is typically the first weekend in March.
The amusement park stretches over the Gulf of Mexico. The approximately 1,130-foot pier is home to entertaining midway games and 16 rides, including gentle rides for young visitors and exhilarating coasters for thrill seekers.
Make your way to the beach! Afternoon is the perfect time to enjoy sparkling gulf views with the sand between your toes along Galveston Island’s 32 miles of beaches. You can park anywhere along the Sea Wall and look for sharks teeth, shells, and great time for team building activities.
Moody Gardens Attraction Pass
When you arrive, spend the day exploring the many attractions surrounding the Moody Gardens complex. Adventure resort Moody Gardens is home to three pyramid-shaped buildings that feature a live rainforest replica with free roaming animals, a gigantic aquarium and an interactive Discovery Museum. Outside of the pyramids, you can walk through botanical gardens while deciding whether to take a cruise on the Colonel Paddlewheel Boat, splash at Moody Gardens’ heated pool or hit the green at the Moody Gardens Golf Course. There are a variety of dining options located on the Moody Gardens property, including their Garden Restaurant and Cafe in the Park.
